Elizabeth is an organizational consultant, coach, and facilitator specializing in how people participate in large organizations while being true to themselves and contributing to a larger sense of purpose. Her background in systems thinking, storytelling, and community-building enable her to help people see the value of their unique contributions and fully engage the systems they inhabit, bringing their personal values and perspectives to bear on their organization’s actions in the world. She most enjoys partnering with teams, leaders, and individuals “on a mission”, helping them unleash maximum collective competence in pursuit of their goals. Recent clients include Archstone-Smith, Intuit, Hewlett Packard, and CTB/McGraw-Hill. Over the past five years, she has taught regular programs in Systems Thinking and in Saying No for the staff at UC Davis and Stanford University, and presented at “Systems Thinking in Action”, “Story in Organizations" SIG of the National Storytelling Network, and the Bay Area Society for Organizational Learning. From 2004-2006, she assisted Dr. William Ury with research for his book, “The Power of Positive No”. Her most recent research on the everyday challenges of sustaining purpose and integrity in corporate life is previewed in "Winning the Devil's Bargain" (Strategy + Business, Spring, 2007). Elizabeth has been a Steward of the Bay Area Society for Organizational Learning since 1999, and received her MBA from Harvard in 1991.
